mooni ("the App") is a personal Islamic prayer companion developed by Vaanta LLC. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
Your privacy matters. mooni is designed to operate without collecting, storing, or transmitting any personal information. We do not build profiles, sell data, or share anything about you with third parties.
mooni does not collect or store any personally identifiable information. Specifically:
The App requests access to your device's location for two purposes only: to calculate accurate daily prayer times and to determine the Qibla direction from your current position.
Your location is used on-device in real time and is never transmitted to any server owned or operated by mooni, stored in any database, or shared with any third party beyond the limited technical calls described in the "Third-Party Services" section below.
You may deny or revoke location access at any time in your device Settings. If access is denied, the App will prompt you to enter your city manually for prayer time calculations.
mooni saves certain preferences and content locally on your device only. This includes:
All of this data remains on your device and is permanently deleted when you uninstall the App. It is never synced externally or accessible to anyone other than you.
The App makes limited network requests to the following third-party services for functional, non-personal data. No personal information is transmitted in these requests.
Used to fetch current weather conditions based on your coordinates (temperature and weather code only). Open-Meteo is an open-source, GDPR-compliant weather API that does not require an account. Privacy policy: open-meteo.com/en/terms
Used for reverse geocoding — converting your coordinates into a city name for display. Only latitude and longitude are sent; no personal data is included. Privacy policy: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
Adhan (call to prayer) audio files are streamed from this server when notifications are enabled. No personal data is transmitted. Only a standard HTTP audio file request is made.
The Amiri Arabic font is loaded at runtime for Quranic and Arabic text display. Google may log the request IP address per their standard CDN policy. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
If you enable prayer time notifications, the App schedules local device notifications. These are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any external server or push notification service. You can disable notifications at any time in your device Settings.
mooni does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. The App contains no advertising and does not request personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through any App feature, please contact us at the address below.
Because mooni does not collect personal data, there is no data for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All data stored by the App lives on your device and can be removed by uninstalling the App. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us directly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the revision. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
